Rita Jeanne Bell, age 65, Logansport, passed away at 1:13 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born October 9, 1946, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Szelestey Bell.

A 1964 graduate of Logansport High School, Rita was a retired teacher in the Logansport School system, having taught at Fairview and Columbia elementary schools. She was a 1968 graduate of Ball State University and a member of the Retired Teachers Association, where she was past president.

Rita was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society, Mary Dykeman Guild, where she had been vice president, Logansport Art Association, and the Tuesday evening supper club.

Surviving are a brother, George Bell, Logansport, several cousins, including Janet Bell Thomson (husband, Jim) and Ellenmay Bell Curtis, all of Logansport, and Dennis Bell (wife, Deborah) of Indianapolis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8th, at All Saints Catholic Church. Fr. Dominic Petan will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Kroeger Funeral Home, where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Juan Rodriguez officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery
