Irine E. 'Betty' (Steinman) Jorden

Irine E. ‘Betty’ Jorden, 99, Logansport, passed away at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, May 14, 2017, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born December 5, 1917 in Logansport, she was the daughter of Oliver and Carrie Smith Steinman.

On November 9, 1935, in Trinity Episcopal Church, she was married to Edward C. Jorden, who preceded her in death August 24, 2002.  They were married 67 years.

Betty retired from the shipping department at the Gossard in 1976.  She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  She loved having babies in the family.

She was an 80-year member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Surviving are son, Jack (Ann) Jorden, Celestine; daughter, Sandy Jorden, Logansport; grandson, Barry (Angela) Jorden, Indianapolis; sister, Pearl Speitel, Logansport; nieces, Betty Foley, Kay (Ronnie) Rottet, Sandi Speitel, and Beth Bulick; nephews, Don Speitel, Jim (Judy) Steinman, and Jeff (Libby) Steinman; many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Also preceding in death were brothers, Jim Steinman, Jack Steinman, and Bud Steinman; and sister, Edna Sherman.

The service at Trinity Episcopal Church will be on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 12:00 noon, with Fr. Clark Miller officiating.

Visitation will be at Kroeger Funeral Home, also on Thursday, from 10:00 until 11:45 a.m.

Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery will follow the service.
