Mary Kaye Gray, 78, Logansport, passed away, peacefully, at 5:10 a.m., on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born in South Bend on October 17, 1939, she was the daughter of Tyrus William and Frances Zauss Bell.
On February 6, 1964, she was married to John H. Gray, who preceded her in death on October 6, 2011.
A 1958 graduate of Logansport High School, Mary Kaye had attended Indiana University, Kokomo. She was retired from the Indiana Division of Children Services, where she had been a homemaker.
She had a great love for all of those in her life. Mary was a true Christian and was concerned until her last breath that those whom she loved would come to know Jesus.
Mary was involved in many clubs and organizations which included, Red Hat Society, Domestic Violence Task Force, Mental Health Association, as well as many groups within LifeGate Church where she was a member.
She loved her family, which included sister, Patricia (John) Chrisman; brothers, Francis (Sandy) Bell, Robert J. ‘Bob’ Bell, and Michael S. Bell; children, Melissa Howell, Heather (Brent) Whaley, and Anthony (Jean) Gray; grandchildren, Tommy and Taylor Monroe, Jalen and Sameera Williams, Marisa and Abigail Rance and Brittany Howell; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
Also preceding Mary in death were daughter, Michelle Monroe; siblings, Kenny Bell, Ty Bell and Jerry Bell; and granddaughter, Rachel Howell.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., (EDT) at Kroeger Funeral Home, and on Monday, March 12, 2018, at LifeGate Church from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., with the service following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Andy Weil, pastor of LifeGate Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, and at the church.
