William A. Rozzi Obituary

William A. “Bill” Rozzi, age 76, of Logansport, passed away at 1:24 a.m., on Monday, March 5, 2018, in his home.

The son of Bernard R. ‘Ben’ and Una May Benjamin Rozzi he was born on August 14, 1941, in Logansport.

On June 10, 1961, in Logansport, he married Phyllis Musall.

Faith and family were at the core of Bill’s life. Bill was a hard-worker and always concerned for others, especially close friends and family. He was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church.

With his wife, Phyllis, Bill owned Rozzi’s Greenhouse and Warner’s Greenhouse.

Bill attended St. Vincent de Paul elementary school and was a 1959 graduate of Logansport High School. During his high school years he spent summers at Culver Military Academy and was a proud member of the Black Horse Troop.

Bill also loved horses and for many years, he raced standardbred horses. One of his accomplishments was to have won the last race at the Logansport Fairgrounds while being the owner and driver of the horse. He was the proud owner of the 1992 Three-Year-Old Illinois Filly Pacer of the Year – “She’s My BoBo Too”.

The City of Logansport presented Bill with the Kathy Dingo Spirit of the City Award in 2014.

He served on the Logansport Interfaith Housing Corporation - Pinecrest Manor Apartments from 1999 to 2015.

Bill was a past president of Indiana Flower Growers Association and instrumental in coordinating flowers for the 1987 Pan Am Games in Indianapolis.

He was a past member of the former Logansport Exchange Club.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis, and his four children, Anthony (Anita) Rozzi, Jackie Springer, Chris (Susan) Rozzi, and Jennifer (Frank) Korreckt.

Grandchildren are Kyle (Whitney) Springer, Kelsey (Matt) Trammell, Shaun Rozzi, Sarah Rozzi, Kayla Rozzi, Packard Rozzi, Melissa (Mike) Cohee, and Katrinia (Adam) Korreckt. Great-grandchildren are Cameron Cohee, Max Cohee, Adalyne Rozzi, Jared Trammell, and Amelia Korreckt.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Bill Strahlem, and grandson, Kyle Anthony Rozzi.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, both at Kroeger Funeral Home.
