Claudia J. Lowry, age 63, Logansport, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016, at her residence.

Born December 12, 1952, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Claude and Mary Ann Rolka Blake.

She was married on December 2, 1972, at St. Joseph’s Church in Logansport, to Larry R. Lowry, who survives.

Claudia attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and was a 1970 graduate of Logansport High School.

She was a member of the Walton American Legion Auxiliary, All Saints Catholic Church and the All Saints Ladies Society, where she was past president.

On May 6, 1985, Claudia fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse when she was pinned as an RN during a ceremony at Indiana University – Kokomo. After thirty years as a registered nurse, Claudia touched countless lives having worked in surgery, diabetic education, rehabilitation, oncology and much more.

She was a compassionate professional and a dedicated Director of Nursing. She loved her nursing career and after thirty years would select the same path over again. Her only hope was that she made a difference in her patients’ lives.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters, Lori (Brandon) Davis, Oswego, IL and Kara (Tim) Keppel, Galveston; sister, Andrea (Richard) Woodke, Logansport; brother, Timothy (Marge) Blake, Victorville, CA; grandchildren, Carter Davis, Riley Keppel and Tricia (Joe) Gray; great-granddaughter, Lilliann Gray; brother-in-law, Louis Bodette, Walton and Brenda’s partner, Shirley Bowen, Logansport; several  nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, Alycia Lowry, grandson, Holden Davis, and siblings, Janalyce Bodette, Terry Blake and Brenda Blake.

Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home, with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, also at the funeral home. The Nurses Association will stand guard during visitation and officiate a Memorial Service at 7:15 p.m., prior to the Scripture Service. The Florence Nightingale award will be presented to the family during this time.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Dominic Petan officiating.
