Darlene M. (Joy) Turnpaugh

Darlene M. Turnpaugh, age 65, Fishers, formerly of Walton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her residence.

Born in Jonesport, Maine, on August 16, 1952, she was the daughter of Ralph L. and Beverly Hodgkins Joy. Her mother survives residing in Fishers.

On January 4, 1997, Darlene was married to David Turnpaugh, who survives.

Darlene was a 1970 graduate of North Middlesex High School, Townsend, Mass. She attended Cosmetology School after high school. In Logansport she had been employed as a realtor at Terra Realty and later, at Galloway, Murray and Scheetz. Darlene had also been employed at Plotner’s Shoe Tree and she owned Sentiments Cards and Gifts.

Darlene enjoyed being involved in her church, Walton Christian. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.  

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Rocco Valadez, Fishers, and three grandchildren, Lily, Gabe and Rafe Valadez.

The funeral service will be Monday, November 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Walton Christian Church, with Pastor Bill Collins officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home and on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Interment will be in Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
