Joanne S. Timmons, age 78, Logansport, passed away at 12:40 p.m., on Thursday, February 23, 2017, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

In the 78 years we were blessed to have Joanne Timmons in this world, countless people were touched by her kindness and strength.

Born to Earl and Geneva Snider on August 5, 1938, Joanne grew up a horse-loving farm girl, the youngest of six children.

She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1956 and married John Wood on January 4, 1958. They spent much of their free time camping and spending time with friends and family until John's passing in 1980.

Joanne worked at Fitzgerald's Jewelry Store for a number of years, accumulating an enviable collection of jewelry and perfecting her etching with the engraving machine. In 1985, Joanne began working at Smith Office, where she was adored by her coworkers, many called her "Jomama," until her retirement in 2010.

On September 16, 2000, Joanne was married to George R. ‘Dick’ Timmons. Along with her loving husband, Joanne leaves behind a large and closely-knit family: her son Michael Wood and his wife Terri, daughter Sarah Wood and her husband Tom, her step-sons Tim and Dan Timmons and their families, step-daughter Joetta Wilkinson, and her son-in-law Richard Tuttle, who was married to her late daughter, Cindy Tuttle, who preceded Joanne in her Heavenly journey. Joanne was loved and admired by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Joanne cherished time with her family, always hosting Easter, as well as various family gatherings, throughout the year. She was often in the company of her longtime friends, often starting her day by walking the Logansport Mall with them and then going to McDonald's for a cup of black coffee. She spent Monday nights watching Dancing with the Stars and keeping a book of meticulous notes about each couple's scores throughout the seasons.

Joanne was a one-of-a-kind woman who left behind a legacy of love and strength. Her life will be celebrated by all who knew her.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., in All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Clayton Thompson officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26th, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., at Kroeger Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., with Fr. Dominic Petan officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery.
