Lawrence D. Rude
June 19, 1928 ~ May 31, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years OldLawrence D. Rude, age 88, Logansport, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in WoodBridge Health Campus.
Born June 19, 1928, in Star City, he was the son of Newton and Geneva DePoy Rude.
On September 2, 1948, in Logansport, he was married to Gladys “Bunny” Hollering, who survives.
Larry had been employed as an Iron Worker through Local #22 in Indianapolis, where he was a member. He also owned and operated the Tap Tavern from 1982 to 1998.
He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, St. Francis of Assisi Council #561.
Larry was also a member of the Logansport Elks #66, American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Ed Rude, Sagamore Hills, Ohio; daughter, Marla (Brian) Hardy, Logansport; grandsons, Andrew Murray (Kim Lyons) and Ryan Murray (Crickitt Riewoldt); great grandchildren, Richard Riewoldt, Addison Riewoldt, Norlan Riewoldt and Floyd Murray; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Rob Rude and Sheila Collier; four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday also at the funeral home, with Fr. Clayton Thompson officiating.
