Margaret E. (Margie) Deck Miller, 89, Lake Wylie, SC, formerly of Lucerne, passed away peacefully at 2:00 AM in her residence on Friday April 29, 2016 after a brief illness.

Born on Jan. 12, 1927, she was the daughter of Russell and Fern Powlen Deck of Lucerne, IN.

On Jan. 18, 1947, at Indian Creek Church in Lucerne, she married Paul E. Miller of Logansport, who preceded her in death in 1989.

Margie was a graduate of Lucerne High School. She worked over the years for Timberlake’s Gift Shop, Plotner's Shoes, but mostly helping on the family farm in Washington Twp, Cass Co. In later years, she lived part of the year in Pompano Beach, FL and in Logansport, before moving in 2003 to Lake Wylie, SC to be near her children. She cherished her family, old friends and neighbors wherever she lived and loved keeping in touch with them through phone calls, and most recently with emails and Facebook.

Surviving are a son, David (Gennus) Miller, Lake Wylie, SC and daughter, Linda (Tom) Bookmiller, Lake Wylie, SC; grandchildren, Chris (Holly) Miller, Baker City OR, Drew (Holly) Miller, Geneva, IL, Stacey Bookmiller, Charlotte, NC, Marc (Robin) Bookmiller, Charlotte, NC and Shane Bookmiller, New York, NY; great-grandchildren, Jared, Justin, Jacob, Lindsay, Dylan and Quinn and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides Paul, were a brother Merle(Betty) Deck, Lucerne and sisters Corabelle (Robert) Handshu, Royal Center and Mabel (Ed) Burkhart, Logansport, sisters-in-law, Sue (Dale)Miller, Helen (Don) Shaff, Betty (Cliff)Coffman.

A graveside service will be conducted at Rock Creek Cemetery, Carroll County, on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:30 AM, officiated by Rev. Ken Smith.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill, SC for the loving care given to their mother and grandmother.
