Marilyn Sue Skinner, 85, a resident of Virginia since 2010, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2017 in Leesburg, Virginia.

Born January 26, 1932, in Logansport, she was the daughter of William T. and Lillie M. Harrell. 

She was married on June 12, 1953, in Logansport, to Hugh R. Skinner. He passed away on March 23, 2010. 

Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of Logansport High School.  Marilyn had been employed at National Steel.  She worked at Franklin Elementary School and Columbia Elementary School as an Instructional Assistant and retired after 30 years of service.

Formerly a longtime member of Third Street Evangelical United Brethren (United Methodist Church), she then became a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church in Logansport.  When she moved to Virginia, she became a member of Sterling United Methodist Church in Sterling, Virginia. She was always a very active volunteer singing in choir, directing Bible School, participating in women’s circle, and leading various committees.

She participated as a member of the Mary Dykeman Memorial Hospital Guild.  Marilyn was a longtime member of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, initiation in 1951. 

Marilyn loved her family, friends and church.  She always loved drawing and painting pictures. 

Surviving are a daughter, Debra Lynette Skinner Myers, Leesburg, VA; a son, Stephen Harrell Skinner (wife, Janet), Potomac Falls, VA; and a son, David Hugh Skinner (wife, Dianne), Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie Myers Perhach (husband, Peter), Christopher Myers, Andrew Skinner (wife, Jamie), Gabriel Skinner, Jenna Skinner Anderson (husband, Steven), Paige Skinner, Nicholas Adams, and Samuel Adams; great-granddaughters, Julia Perhach, Scarlett Perhach, and Clarke Skinner.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Nick Robinson of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
