R. Deane Warner, age 83, Logansport, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017, in his residence.

Born February 2, 1933, in Bloomington, Ill., he was the son of Eldon and Clarissa Wiser Warner.

He was married May 6, 1955, in Logansport, to Kay E. Snyder, who preceded in death on January 25, 2010.

Deane retired in 1989 as a Logansport City Mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

United State Marine Corps veteran who served in Korea from 1953 to 1956, he was a member of the American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790.

Deane was a frequent guest at the Logansport Elks Club and was a member of BPOE #66.

Surviving are a son, Michael (Tammy) Warner, Logansport; daughters, Ellen (Jeff) Hand, Logansport, Laura Wicker, Logansport, and Mary Pomasl, Logansport; brothers, Dick Warner, Arizona, William (Lynda) Warner, Mooresville; sisters, June Hostetler, Goshen, Patricia (Dick) Duncan, Kokomo, Linda Key, Logansport, and Becky (Joe) Patterson, Wichita Falls, Texas.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Courtney Kitchell, Major John C. (Courtni) Wicker, USAF, Nicole Mosby, Amanda McKinley, Kayla Warner, Michael Warner, Jacob Pomasl, Emily Pomasl; a number of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Dustin McKinley; sister, Sue Warner Downs, brothers, Bob Warner and Larry Warner preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home, where an Elks Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:30 Tuesday evening.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Donald Gross officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
