Born Saturday, April 11, 1936, in Monon, he was the son of Robert and Mary Long Chamberlain.

On February 22, 1958, in Burnettsville Christian Church, he was married to Ellen Sands, who went to heaven on October 29, 2013.

A graduate of Burnettsville High School, Dean then honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Dean became a skilled tool and die maker, starting his career at Small Parts. In the early 1970’s he continued his career at Delco and retired as a General Motors employee.

Throughout his life he had many passions, including hunting, golfing and woodworking. There was a time he restored an old International pick-up truck and built his own television.

In 1975, Dean and Ellen bought a farm near New Waverly, where he farmed while continuing to work until his retirement.

Dean and Ellen enjoyed retirement in North Port, Florida, as they enjoyed their friends at Lazy River and were members of Myakka Pines Golf Course. Dean was also a member of Dykeman Park Golf Course.

He was a 50-year member of the Royal Center Masonic Lodge #585, AF&AM, the American Legion Post 60 and the Logansport Elks, BPOE #66.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Matt Cain, Walton; granddaughter, Elizabeth “Ellie” Cain, Bloomington; many sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Dean was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Rockhill and Mary Jo Rendleman.
