Ronald J. Abbott, age 65, Logansport, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Vincent - Kokomo Hospital.
Born April 10, 1951, in Wabash County, he was the son of Glenn and Alene Brandenberg Abbott.
Ron enjoyed gardening, fishing, collecting antiques, cooking and volunteering at the farmers’ market and Broadway Tobacco.
Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Abbott (Sara Smelser), Walton; daughters, Robyn (Ivan) Sundal, Kokomo and Paula (Sam) Smith, Royal Center; brothers, Randall “Randy” Abbott, Urbana, IN, Carl “Butch” (Racheal) Abbott, South Whitley and a half-brother, Dean Abbott, Manchester, IN; half-sister, Glenda, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and former wife, Margaret Roberts, Prescott, Ariz.
One sister preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Melinda Rogers officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the funeral, also at the funeral home.
