Thomas L. Burkheiser

Thomas Leo Burkheiser, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 24th in Carmel, where he had resided for forty years.

Born in Detroit, he was the son of Leo and Helen Grismer Burkheiser. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit, served in the United States Air Force and retired from Amoco Oil after 34 years.

Survived by his wife of 35 years, Doris Winter Burkheiser, children, Mark (Karin) Burkheiser, Richard (Mary) Burkheiser, Matthew Burkheiser, Linda Smietana and Colleen (John) Farnan; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, niece, Donna Macorkindale and nephew Dain Borregard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Donald Borregard.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Logansport at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Kroeger Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
