Barbara J. (Gibson) Hanawalt

Barbara J. Hanawalt, age 85, Logansport, went to be with the Lord at 1:12 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at WoodBridge Health Campus, Logansport.

Born December 27, 1933, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Harold and Fern Corcoran Gibson.

She was married to Harold Hanawalt, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1985.

Barb had worked for over thirty years at General Tire Manufacturing. Following that she worked at Styles Unlimited.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved animals and shopping.

Surviving are her children, Thomas E. “Ed” (Becky) Hanawalt, Becky (Terry) Grandstaff, Michael J. Hanawalt, Greg A. Hanawalt and Cathy (Mike) Morrow, all of Logansport; sisters, Pat Maroney, Lucerne, Sue Johnson and Diana Linton, both of Logansport; sister-in-law, Vera Boyer, Logansport.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Trampas Hanawalt, Trisha Mancini, Chad Hanawalt, Scott Hanawalt, Katy Ijames, Guhner Hanawalt and Aaron Morrow; four step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a number of nieces and nephews.

Three brothers preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Cole Westwood of Corinth Brethren Church officiating.

Interment will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
