Martha B. (Been) Justice

Martha B. Justice, age 97, Logansport, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born in Carroll County on June 14, 1921, she was the daughter of Paul and Beatrice Gardner Been.

On May 20, 1940, she married John T. Justice, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2014.

Martha was a 1939 graduate of Delphi High School. She belonged to the Wednesday Forum (of which she was a founding member), Home Ec Club, and the Delphi Preservation Society.

She was a farm wife and had worked as a legal secretary. Martha was an avid reader and world traveler. She enjoyed antiques and was a collector of many things.

Martha was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church.

She was a great source of strength to her family.

Surviving are a brother, Herbert Been, Delphi, and sister, Marjorie Reynolds, Logansport.

Also surviving are three granddaughters, Kirsten Justice (Jennifer Dixon), Raleigh, NC, Susannah Hall-Justice (Bryan Coulter), West Lafayette, Emily Justice, Logansport; grandson, Owen (Catherine) Justice, Minneapolis; six great grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Pamela Tate, Oak Park, Ill. and Diana Justice, Logansport; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, David Justice and Courtney Justice and a brother, Richard Been.

The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Kroeger Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, one hour prior to the funeral, also at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Keeps Creek.

Donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Church at Keeps Creek, a building she worked hard to preserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or contributions may be mailed to Kroeger Funeral Home, 711 E. Market Street, Logansport 46947.
