Michael P. "Mike" Dingo Obituary

Michael Paul “Mike” Dingo, age 74, Logansport, passed away peacefully at 9:56 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis. His daughter and grandchildren were at his side.

Born June 8, 1945, in Enterprise, Alabama, he was the son of Dominic P. (Mickey) and Margaret Audia Dingo.

In 1968, Mike saw his chance when Kathy Hinkle dropped one boyfriend and Mike was waiting in the wings. When Mike told Kathy on their first date that he was going to marry her, she laughed, but they became engaged and married within 6 months, and had a marriage that lasted over 44 years.  Kathy preceded him in death on December 18, 2013.

Mike's greatest love and accomplishment was his family, wife, Kathy Dingo; daughter, Gina; and grandchildren, Hunter, Kennedy, and John Curl II.

A 1963 graduate of Logansport High School, Mike served our country in the United States Army.

Mike owned and operated Bruno's Pizza as his father had before him. Gina now continues the Dingo family legacy.

Mike enjoyed playing golf, working out, and eating breakfast with his friends.  He also loved watching Notre Dame football.

He was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church.  You could always find him in one of the last pews at 8 o’clock Sunday Mass.

Surviving are a daughter, Gina Dingo Curl (John), Kokomo; sister, Joanie (Bob) Cameron, Kokomo; grandchildren, Hunter Curl, Kennedy Curl and John Michael Curl II.

Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Dave Hinkle (MaryLou), Muncie, Mike Hinkle (Teresa), Kokomo; and mother-in-law, June Hinkle, Logansport; along with a number of special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019, at All Saints Catholic Church. Fr. Jeff Martin will preside.

Those wishing to attend the funeral service should go directly to the church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A reception will be held in the Parish hall following the service.

Mike always loved the youth of the community, whether friends of the family or current and former employees at Bruno’s Pizza. Therefore, memorial contributions may be made to the Mike Dingo Memorial Fund in care of the Cass County Community Foundation. This fund will be used to assist with youth development in arts and athletics. Envelopes will be available at the church for this purpose.
