William “Dave” Steinhilber, age 82, Logansport, passed away peacefully at WoodBridge Health Campus on Sunday, March 29th.
Born February 26, 1944, in Indianapolis, he was the son of William and Eleanor Roberts Steinhilber.
In 1964 he married Elizabeth A. “Betty” Miles Steinhilber, who preceded him in death on August 27, 2005.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a 1962 graduate of Logansport High School.
Dave graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree and also earned a master’s degree from Michigan State University.
He was a devoted Purdue men’s basketball fan and served as the student manager of the Purdue men’s team. While not a member of the squad, he would still want it to be remembered that he held the record for the most consecutive free throws in Purdue history.
He had been employed in computer programming at Logan Stampings, Controls, Inc., and Roeing Corporation.
Dave enjoyed woodworking, photography and playing tennis.
Surviving is a daughter, Kristen Steinhilber, Dublin, Ohio; and sister, Joan Reid, Titusville, Florida.
No services and planned.
