Gary F. Colford, age 54, Logansport, passed away at 6:51 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, in Parkview Hospital North, Fort Wayne.

Born January 21, 1963, in Kokomo, he was the son of Raymond Lee “Red” and Janice Barbara Byers Colford. His mother survives, residing in Goshen. His father preceded him in death.

Gary was a cherished son, a treasured uncle and more than a brother. He was the sixth of eleven children in a close-knit family. He was kind and generous and worked harder than anyone we knew. He looked after others and tried to make people happy. He bought his mother a house so she could live where she wanted and could have a garden. A favor asked was one that was honored.

He was smart, savvy, quirky, versatile, organized and thoughtful. He was an avid sports fan.

Gary served in the Indiana National Guard and was awarded Brigade Soldier of the Year in 1984.

He was loved and will be missed terribly by family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are brothers, David Colford, Logansport, Tom (Lynne) Colford, Royal Center, Steve Colford, Logansport, Tim (Colleen) Colford, Neenah, Wisc., and Scott Colford, Logansport; sisters, Nancy Colford, Green Bay, Wisc., and Nina Colford (Gene Ohrt), Royal Center; four nieces, four nephews and a number of great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his father, a brother, Edward Colford and twin brothers, Don and John Colford preceded him in death.

Gary was an organ donor.

The visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The service and interment will be private.
