Gerald "Jerry" Baldini

Gerald L. “Jerry” Baldini, 81, Logansport, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Born September 1, 1941, in Logansport, he was the son of Gordon "Gondy" and Madolyn “Nook” (Venice) Baldini.

He married Carolyn Sue “Susie” Long in 1963.

In 1970, along with his father, they started D & J Liquors and he worked until retirement in 2003.

Baldy was an avid golfer, sports fan, crossword puzzle enthusiast and loved video poker. If he wasn’t on the golf course, at Krieg’s Tavern or the Elks Club, you would find him on his Grasshopper cutting the grass.

Above all, Baldy loved his family, especially the love of his life, Susie, who left him too early in 2009.

They had four children who survive, Tony Baldini, Jennifer (Mike) Curran, Angie Baldini (Chris Gwin) and Brad (Karissa) Baldini.

Surviving grandchildren are Garrett (Natalie) Baldini, Madison Baldini, Jake Curran, Joe Curran, Nick Curran, Carolyn Francesca and Giuliana Grace Baldini; great grandson, Cassius Baldini; sister-in-law, Tami Brooks; many nieces and nephews who loved him.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Janet Baldini.

The family would like to thank the caregivers on the fifth floor of Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service and celebration of Jerry’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, also at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
