Herbert L. Helm, Sr.

Herbert L. Helm, Sr., age 93, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017, in North Woods Village, Kokomo.

Born in Rapid City, SD, on June 12, 1923, he was the son of Roy and Marie Patzer Helm.

Herb was the retired manager of the Moose Lodge in Frankfort.

He served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army.

Herb enjoyed spending time at the American Legion in Logansport and going to the casinos.

Surviving are his children, Richard L. Helm (wife, Marsha), Peru, Sandy Helm, Herbert L. Helm, Jr. (wife, Natalie), Menifee, CA, and Joseph A. Helm (wife, Kathy), Westminster, CO; step children, Geri Twitty (husband, Jim), Indianapolis, and Jack Rose, Logansport; two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles Helm, John Helm, and James Helm, and sister Fern Helm Thoman.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, April 3, 2017, in the chapel at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., also on Monday, at Kroeger Funeral Home, prior to the funeral procession to Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Full military honors will be accorded prior to interment.
