I do not exactly remember when Jack and I started running around together, it was probably in 7th grade. Than in later years just a hello now and than. I am very sorry for your loss.

be at peace Jack - we will certainly miss you -a good friend and a kind person. Know that Buttercup is in her home and loving it! We will give her the same love and care that you would.

I was so shocked to hear of the passing of a man that I and many others considered a friend. Jack and I also spent many years working together at Caterpillar. As someone had previously mentioned He also mentored me as I learned the concepts of Gage calibration. He helped me and others along the way and I also would not have advanced on had it not been for the knowledge I gained from his guidance. Rest in peace to my ' best bud' as my daughter would always say when she was a youngster and say Hi to Aneke for me because I miss here also.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jack's passing. I was fortunate to work with Jack for many years at Caterpillar. The one thing I never had to worry about was the state of any of the gages, at Cat, while Jack was in the gage lab. I knew they were going to work properly and that the calibration checks would be completed as scheduled.
Rest in peace Jack. I'm glad you got to see the Cubs finally win the series.

He mentored me as I learned the concepts of Gage (not Gauge as Jack always said this spelling was incorrect) calibration. Thoughts and prayers for family and friends during this time of loss.

My heart is broken that my male bestie/Cuba partner-in-crime is gone. I knew Jack and I would be fast friends the moment he introduced himself to our tour group the night before we left for Cuba, saying "Hi. My name is Jack. People either like me or hate me. You may all hate me, but I hope you don't". By those funny words, I could tell that he was only a curmudgeon on the outside and beneath that rough exterior was a very kind man who was hurting over the loss of his beloved wife and sick baby, Jouille (he mentioned them in his introduction as well).
Jack was sharp and quick witted up until the end. He was so easy for me to like and care about and my heart hurts and I selfishly cry knowing that I won't get any more random, hysterical text messages and emails, telling me about his new adventures with Buttercup or his hatred for his "piece of crap" computer and good for nothing computer tech people and mobile provider. I worried about him, but looked forward to his road trip and possibly seeing him again. I won't get that chance, but I know that his hurt just couldn't take another day without seeing Anneke again. Godspeed my friend. You were very loved.

A lovely posting Laura. I found Jack to be a bit challenging at first on our Cuba trip, then was rather touched when he brought some pencils to give to the first school we visited. So I had to rethink my attitude a bit and appreciate what he did bring to the trip. You and Rhandi were so good to him, which really helped him and all of us and I'm sure made the trip much more enjoyable for Jack. He really loved those old cars, didn't he?
