James E. Lefebure

James E. Lefebure, age 88, Logansport, went to be with the Lord at 8:48 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born February 8, 1930, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Emil and Loretta Dwyer Lefebure.

On November 22, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jim was married to Patricia Rensch, who survives.

Jim was a graduate of Saint. Bede High School, Peru, Ill., and earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.

He served his country in the United States Navy.

Jim was from a very large Lefebure family in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior to moving to Logansport, he and his wife resided in Cedar Rapids, where he was employed as an Industrial Engineer with Wilson Foods.

He transferred to Logansport with Wilson Foods in the late 1950s and became a member of St. Vincent de Paul (later All Saints) Catholic Church. He was church usher, CCD instructor and volunteer for Fruitful Harvest campaigns.

Following retirement Jim was a consultant for designing and implementing floor plans for manufacturing facilities. He had also been a guest speaker on several occasions at Purdue University for industrial engineering classes.

The consummate “family man”, Jim was a loving husband and phenomenal father and grandfather. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Curt Lefebure, Crete, Neb., and Craig Lefebure, Lafayette; daughter. Julee (Dan) Hildebrand, Logansport; sister, Clare (James) O’Meara, Bethesda, Md.; grandchildren, James Hildebrand, Austen Hildebrand and Jaimie Lefebure.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
