Jeffrey A. ‘Catfish’ Sholty, age 68, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly at 9:05 p.m., on Thursday, June 6, 2019, in Logansport Memorial Hospital emergency room.
Born in Logansport on June 29, 1950, he was the son of Charles R. ‘Bud’ and Martha L. ‘Gussie’ Dutchess Sholty.
Following retirement as a machinist at Modine Manufacturing, Jeff was the tasting room manager at The People’s Winery.
A caring, honest gentleman, Jeff had a natural way with people, and was an idol to his siblings. He was a great athlete, pool player and well-read person, who always had a story to tell. He lived life large.
Jeff was a leader, and if it was ‘good enough for Jeff’, others would follow. He would make you tow the line, but had a humility about himself. A pure soul, he loved and took care of his friends and family.
Surviving are brothers, Charles T. (Janet L.) Sholty, Franklin; John S. (Beverly) Sholty, Peru; sister, Stacie (Brad) Angle, Logansport; nieces and nephews, Caroline Sholty (Jason Tremblay), Annie Sholty (fiancé, Connor Walters), Dan (Mandy) Angle, Laura (Chris) Coffman, Erin Angle (fiancé, Kyle Overway); great nieces and nephews, Lucy Angle, Lucas Angle, Lane Angle, and Jace Coffman. Also surviving is his good friend, Isabel.
Preceding in death were his parents and brother, Todd Sholty.
The visitation will be at Kroeger Funeral Home, on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with the service following, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.
Burial, at a later date, will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
