Mary Frances Blackman, age 83, formerly of Logansport and Gainesville, Fla., passed away at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, in the Indiana Veteran’s Home, West Lafayette.
Born January 31, 1936, in Springfield, MO, she was the daughter of Andrew Francis and Norma Blanch Evans Baker.
On February 12, 1972, in Illinois, she was married to Donald C. Blackman, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2014.
Mary had been employed as a cashier at the University of Florida and was an avid Gators fan.
She loved crafting and playing bingo.
Surviving are children, Melodie (Jim) Zapp, Lake Butler, Fla., Mitchel (Deb) Huddleston, Middleboro, Mass., Tim (Michell) Huddleston, High Springs, Fla., and Glenda (Gary) Chambers, Logansport; grandchildren, Nathan Vinyard, Adam Vinyard, Joseph Huddleston, Mindy Huddleston, Meghan Lee, Logan Huddleston, Victoria Chambers, and Benjamin Chambers; nine great grandchildren; and 5 sisters.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and one sister.
The service will be on Monday, May 20, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Fr. Jeff Martin officiating.
The visitation will also be on Monday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service, also at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
