Brian Beall I went to St Josephs school for 8 years with Mike. He had it rough right from the start. Always in pain. Wheel chairs, full body braces and crutches were his constant companions. One bulky shoe was 4 inches higher than the other. Understanding from other classmates could have been much improved. He never complained. Recess and playing on the playground with kids running and playing sports was difficult for him. As much as he tried to participate, it was very tough. It was the little things like getting on and off the school bus, holding an arm load of books under one arm and his crutches under the other that was such a struggle. Even taking off his coat was tough. I would hold his crutches every time I could. I remember on the school bus, once in a while, I would ask if I could sit in his seat, his face would light up with joy and he would shout out "sure". Then suddenly, his father passed away. People didn't understand. He was the only man of the household, trying to take care of his mother, and three sisters, in which he did, and did well. I haven't seen, nor talked with Mike since around 10th grade but that's the impact he had on me. He was a guy with a giant heart, he was very kind and generous, and all that he had been through, he still remained .................very humble. May God bless him ten fold.

Dear Bonnie & family,
I'm shocked to learn of Mike's passing. We reconnected a couple yrs ago. We hung out together in the 80's when my husband worked at the Body Connection for him. I don't know any of his family except you. I hope your good memories will keep him close in your heart. I'm very sorry. He was a great guy!

I am saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I enjoyed working with Mike at El-Tip-Wa and Century Career Center. He had a heart of gold. He loved his students and wanted only the best for their futures. He gave all that he had, and then a little bit more. He will be remembered fondly.
