Mrs. Ridlen and family, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Ridlen. My parents, Norma and Amando Baluyut were so very fond of him professionally and as a family friend. My brother, Art, had the privilege of caring for him during his last days. He was one of my Godfathers in my wedding about 30 years ago. We think very highly of Mr. Ridlen and he will be missed greatly. We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers. Arlene Baluyut and family, Louisville, KY

Judge Ridlen was very kind to me when I needed some judicial intervention for a family matter. His kindness was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.

What a wonderful person he was. I remember all the wonderful stories he had. It was fun introducing him to LJ tacos and Louies restaurants for the 1st time for lunch. He touched many peoples lives. He will be truly missed by many. Rest easy my friend.

Dearest Sue, I just learned of Julian's passing. He was a kind and gentle man and

Sue, so sorry to hear of Julian's passing. I know how special your relationship was and please know that I am thinking of you as you find your way through this time. I can still see and hear Julian sitting on our porch on a summer evening (IUK supper at my house) describing how he was cast as a braying mule for some function--amusing all of us. I remember you often (and would love to get together for lunch whenever you might be in Indy).

I am saddened by the passing of the Honorable Julian Ridlen. Although I had heard he name mentioned for years it wasn't until he began to come to the Howard County Court House that I got to meet him for the first time. I considered it an honor to be able to sit with him during the many lunches that we had together during which times he shared many of his life experiences with me and whoever else happened to join us. If I knew in advance that he was coming there were times that I would cook lunch for us as well as Judge George Hopkins. Those lunch times became special times for us and I will surely miss them. I will cherish our last lunch together> Rest in Peace my friend.

We are so blessed to have crossed paths at the Benjamin Harrison Home. Both of you were so kind and thoughtful towards us. It was always a joy to see you and we usually came away a little smarter! You two worked so hard together for your community. We hope God will help Sue carry on as Julian looks on from above.

Dear Susie,
Diane and I always looked forward to seeing you and Julian on those rare occasions when you came to Washington, DC to do research for his book. We loved his Christmas letters and the fellowship we had when your sorority sisters would get together.

Julian will be missed and I am praying that Diane will look him up in heaven so that she can hear more of his interesting stories.

Love,
Roy
