Walter Keller, Jr., age 87, Camden, passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2019, in St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo.
Born December 31, 1931, in Knox, he was the son of Walter Keller, Sr. and Nellie and Charles Harbert.
On August 2, 1952, he was married to Eva Jean Galbreath, who survives.
Walter was a retired pipefitter and welder working through the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #567 in Terre Haute.
Walter also loved farming, auto body repair, race car driving, NASCAR, Westerns, and his dog, Jake.
A member of the VFW Post 370, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded two Purple Heart medals and the Bronze Star.
Surviving are his children, David (Tanya) Keller, Carmel, Edward (Deb) Keller, Pennsylvania, Vickie (Jack) Hahn, Fort Wayne, Kathy (Todd) Cripe, New Waverly and Leisa (Jeff) Keller-Henry, Kokomo.
Also surviving are sisters, Georgiana Delores “Dee” Hiatt and Donna Henry, Logansport; a number of grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation and Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Kroeger Funeral Home.
The graveside service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., also on Saturday, May 4th, at Camden Cemetery with full military honors.
