William E. Rucker
April 20, 1939 ~ April 22, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years OldWilliam E. Rucker 78, of Bonita Springs, FL died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 20, 1939 in Fort Worth, TX the son of the late Thomas M. and Margaret (neé Estes) Rucker. He had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2000 coming from Minneapolis, MN.
Bill grew up in Dallas, Texas and moved to Logansport, IN in 1961, where he met his wife, Carolyn Grube. They were married in 1963. The family spent 1967 to 2000 in Minnesota where Bill helped found CORE Resources, a hunting apparel company. In 2000, Bill and Carolyn retired and moved to the warmth of Bonita Springs, FL.
Bill had a deep passion for travel, photography, deep sea fishing, boating, warm weather and a lifelong love of Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn G. Rucker of Bonita Springs, FL; two daughters, Laurel S. Shuman and her husband, Mitchell of Lafayette, CO and Elizabeth R. O’Donoghue and her husband, Patrick of Wilmette, IL; two sisters, Margaret (Ray) Hill of Dallas, TX and Susan (Mark) Miller of Denton, TX and 5 grandchildren: Dillon Jensen, Calli Praner, Norah Shuman, Genevieve Shuman, Theodore O’Donoghue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Carrie E. Rucker on July 28, 2011 and his brother, Robert M. Rucker.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, June 10th, in Trinity Episcopal Church (East Market & Seventh Streets) with Fr. Clark Miller officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Friends may greet the family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Service, in the Parish Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church.
