Amber Peterson, age 39, Logansport, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, in her residence with her loving family beside her.
A registered nurse, Amber was the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Logansport State Hospital.
Born May 23, 1986, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Rebecca Ann Peterson.
Surviving is a sister, Laura Peterson (Dietrick Davis); nieces, Kendra Peterson, Kiera Peterson (Austin Hoch); nephew, Kristian Peterson; two great nieces, Aubrie & Averie; former spouse, Ambrosia Peterson.
A 2004 graduate of Logansport High School, where she swam and played softball in addition to being an excellent student, Amber then continued on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana University Kokomo.
Being a nurse was a natural for her. She was always thinking of others, taking care of others, and bringing people together.
Among her many interests were traveling, golfing, the Indianapolis Colts, Harry Potter, and just being the funniest girl in Logansport.
For a short life, her’s was very full.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13th, at the funeral home. The Nursing Honor Guard will be present during this time to honor Amber's dedication to her profession.
Following visitation, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, there will be a light-hearted, informal sharing of stories and memories.
Amber was a devoted “dog mom”. It is only fitting that contributions in her memory may be made to the Cass County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
