David "Jackson" Jewell

David “Jackson” Jewell, age 28, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 18, 2024, in Logansport.

Born on July 22, 1996, in Barrington, Illinois, he was the son of David and Janet (Petersen) Jewell. His mother preceded him in death on December 28, 2023. He was married to Lera Samantha Good on November 20, 2021. 

After graduating Harper Community College, Jackson worked at his local YMCA. He and Lera settled in Logansport where Jackson worked at the Logansport Juvenile Correctional Facility. He enjoyed playing video games and going to the range with his friends and family. Going on walks or on the lake was another one of his favorite past times to spend with those close to him. Anyone who knew Jackson knew he was loyal, supportive, protective, and had a youthful spirit to him. He will be remembered for his dedication to those he cared about the most. 

Surviving are his father, David Jewell; his wife, Lera Samantha Jewell; his grandmother, Betty Sterrett.

Also surviving are his aunt Jo and uncle Jack Burton; his aunt Laura and uncle Ed Spore; and his cousins Katie, Jessica, and Sarah Spore.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

The funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating.

Interment will be private.
