Deloris E. (Barger) Bixler

Deloris E. Bixler, age 89, Logansport, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, in WoodBridge Health Campus.

Born in Coldwater, Ohio on February 20, 1933, she was the daughter of Orian E. and Edna M. (Azbell) Barger, who preceded her in death.

On April 12, 1953, in Portland, Indiana, she was married to Billy W. Bixler, who preceded her in death on April 2, 2020.

A 1951 graduate of Portland High School, she was a homemaker. A skilled seamstress, she made all of her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes.  Deloris also did alterations for many people. She loved gardening, sewing, making any and all crafts, and watching the deer from her back porch.

She had been a member of Met-n-Et Home Ec Club for nearly 40 years.

Surviving Deloris are son, Brad (Kathy) Bixler, Logansport; and grandchildren, Josh (Rachel) Bixler, Justin (Megan) Bixler, Brandon Bixler, and Ryan Bixler.

She was also preceded in death by son, Richard ‘Ric’ Bixler, who passed away on December 17, 2013; and her brother, Orian E. Barger, Jr.

A private graveside service will be held for both Deloris and her husband, Billy, at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
