Dorinda D. Cannan

Dorinda Darlene Cannan, age 64, Monticello, Indiana, passed away on July 8, 2024. Born on October 23, 1959, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Patricia Hall and Frederick Viney. Dorinda attended school in Colorado Springs before settling in Monticello with her family. She completed her education by obtaining a GED in her late 40’s.

Dorinda’s greatest joy in life was caring for her family, including her mother, who she lovingly cared for until the end of her life. Dorinda was also deeply devoted to her children, Natasha, Kayla, and Kendra, and her nine grandchildren, Zander, Zaydyn, Isaac, Zoe, Anastacia, Leelynn, Evie, Aubree, Myklen; one great-granddaughter due in September, Hailie Rose. A sister, Terrie Rich, also survives.

In March, 2024, Dorinda moved to Logansport, where she lived with her beloved cat, Ransom.

A proud member of Calvary Church in Peru, Dorinda was baptized there and found great comfort in her faith. Services will be held at Calvary Church on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Friends and family may greet the family between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Palmer will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Calvary Church.

Dorinda will be deeply missed by her loved ones, but her legacy of love and devotion will live on through them.
