Dorvan W. Appollonio Obituary

Dorvan W. Appollonio, "Italian Stallion", age 70, Royal Center, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023, at home, one day before his 71st birthday, surrounded by his loving children.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 7th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Kelly Spencer officiating.

He was a family man and anyone who was lucky enough to know him heard him say many times how proud and blessed he was with his girls.

He loved going for rides on his Can-Am and visiting family and friends.

He leaves behind his daughters, Dee (Terry) Keefer, Danyell (Ronnie) Beebout, Lisa Appollonio (Eugene Small); grandchildren, Dorvan (Candice) Korreckt, Braxton (Molly) Korreckt, Caterina Beebout (Jacob White), Hunter Beebout, Gage Beebout, Sheldon (Casey) Keefer, Steven Keefer, Austin Keefer, Alex Small; eleven great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Rose.

He had a heart of gold, was always available to help others. He was quick-witted and his sarcasm always made people laugh. Family was everything to him. He was extremely proud of all his grandchildren. Not a day would go by that he wouldn’t share a story about his family.

He was also close with his cousins; they were like siblings to him.

God received one heck of a fighter for his Army.

Surviving are brothers, Winston Davidson, Brad Davidson, Bobby Rance; and sister, Jody Gaddis.

He was married to Pam (Huddleston) Taylor for twenty-seven years.

Dorvan was a straight-shooter. He would tell you how he felt whether you liked it or not.

He was strong-willed and hard-headed – determined nothing would hold him back or slow him down.

He retired in June, 2018, from Tyson Foods. He liked to tell people he worked forty one years on the same floor because it was Wilson’s before Tyson’s. (He worked 20 years for Wilson’s and 21 years for Tyson’s.)

He was blessed to remain close with friends from his childhood. These were many friendships that he cherished and was proud to have.

Dorvan was a dog-lover and had many different breeds throughout his life, with the last being Rose, a dachshund.

Preceding in death were his father, Patrick Appollonio, mother, Beverly Doran, grandmother, Lena Appollonio, who he considered his mom.
