Edith “Edie” Wandrei Campbell, age 82, Logansport, passed away suddenly on Friday evening, November 3, 2023, in her residence, of a pulmonary embolism.
Edie was born July 16, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan, the youngest of five children. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the former Marion College, now Indiana Wesleyan University. She had been married to Fred Wandrei and Clarence Campbell, both of whom are deceased.
As Mrs. Wandrei, she taught third grade at Daniel Webster School. Later, she was employed at National City Bank in downtown Logansport.
She enjoyed watching the Pacers and Colts, game shows and doing the Jumble crossword puzzle in the newspaper each day, which she said kept her brain sharp. She enjoyed decorating the house inside and out for each season and holiday.
Surviving is a son, David Wandrei, Logansport; brother, Richard Stokes; sister, Ducky (Rev. Max) Kingsolver. Two brothers, Tom Stokes and Bob Stokes, preceded her in death.
Her son David wishes to thank Bonnie and Cliff VanWinkle for being such good friends and neighbors to her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. She always said she didn’t want everyone coming in and staring at her.
Kroeger Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
