Everett (Ray) Galloway, 99, of Logansport passed away at 5:50 p.m., Sunday July 26, 2020, at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born February 28, 1921, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Horace L. and Margarette (Dunkin) Galloway.
Ray was a 1939 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who served in the South Pacific. He was the radio operator and waist gunner on a B24 Liberator bomber.
On Jun 15, 1946 he married Mildred E. Schmidt. She preceded in him in death on Feb. 21, 1994. On Sept. 15, 1995, he married Rita Fitz who preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 2013.
Ray was a retired switchman from General Telephone Company.
He was an avid audiophile. He enjoyed recording big band music and corresponding with other music buffs all over the world. He also enjoyed metal detecting in his spare time.
Survivors include his son, Terry Galloway (Linda) Galloway of South Carolina; and grandchildren, Kristy Galloway and Alissa Galloway of South Carolina.
Ray was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Haggard.
The service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday July 31, 2020, with visitation from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home. Chaplain Larry Phillips will officiate.
Interment, with military honors, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
