Irene E. (Blackburn) Harding

Irene E. Harding, age 73, Peru, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in Aperion Care of Peru.

Born May 16, 1950, in East Chicago, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Moore Blackburn.

Irene was married to Glenn Harding, who preceded her in death in 2001.

She had been employed as a cook in several area restaurants.

A 1968 graduate of Emerson High School in Gary, she enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo and watching soap operas.

Surviving are a son, James Allen (Christina) Savage, Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Aricke, Rachel, Austin, Elizabeth and Ryan; and Bobby, her beloved boyfriend at Aperion assisted living (Aperion Estates).

Irene was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Savage; and brother, Charles Blackburn, Jr.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, at Aperion Estates, 1200 Kittyhawk Avenue, Peru (Grissom). The service will follow following a period of visitation.

Interment will be next to her husband in Riverview Cemetery in Brook, Indiana.
