Jack D. Beauchamp, 84, passed away peacefully the morning of October 8, 2025, at Chase Center in Logansport. He was born July 9, 1941, in LaPorte, IN, to Burson and Margaret (Folkers) Beauchamp, both deceased.
For a short time, Jack lived on a dairy farm in Wisconsin when he was a small child. The family then moved to Winamac, IN, where he primarily grew up and helped his father on the farm.
Jack started working while in school and eventually moved to Logansport. He worked for many years as a mechanic at Hendrickson Motor Sales in Logansport, where he met his wife of 41 years, Carolyn, now deceased. Known as “JD,” Jack retired after more than thirty years of service.
He always kept busy and was jack-of-all trades, frequently helping others work on cars or renovating apartments for new tenants. He enjoyed gardening, playing acey-deucey backgammon, and attending tractor pulls. Jack was a quiet man, like his brother, who loved to read and watch old westerns. He loved animals, dogs and cats alike.
He is survived by seven children and stepchildren: John (Tina) Walker, Sharon Springs, NY; Patricia (Doug) Richason, Logansport; Angela (Caroline Hinkley) Beauchamp, Galisteo, NM; April Walker (Shawn Bandy) Stemple, Loveland, CO; Beth Beauchamp Lichty, Plymouth, IN; Nancy Walker, Logansport; and G. Phillip (Erin) Walker, Logansport.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Shay Walker, Harrisburg, PA; Dane Walker, Cobleskill, NY; Austin Richason, Drew Richason, Miya (David) Braxton, and Grant DeWitt, of Logansport; Grant Walker and Aaron Walker, of Elkhart, IN; three great-grandchildren of Logansport; brother-in-law, Phillip Conn, Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and his cat “Dinkie.”
Also, preceding his death were a brother, Richard Beauchamp and sister, Kay Rose.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home, 711 E. Market Street, Logansport, IN 46947 with funeral services at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in Shideler Cemetery.
