James Albert Chapman, age 79, Logansport, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19th, in his Logansport residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 29, 1945, in Newton, Mississippi, he was the son of Mason and Lillie Mae Sorey Chapman.
He was married to Flora Lee Chapman, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Chapman was retired from General Motors Corporation in Saginaw, Michigan.
Surviving is a daughter, Shantell Sullivan and her husband, Calvin Sullivan, Jr., Logansport; also surviving are eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy LaShone Chapman; sons, James M. Chapman, Joseph T. Chapman; siblings, Johnny Chapman, Ernestine Johnson, Michael Chapman, and Geneva Chapman.
Visitation is Saturday, November 30th, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Jeff Strite officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
During this Thanksgiving season, the family gives thanks for many blessings, including the life of James Albert Chapman.
