James A. Osborn Obituary

 

James A. Osborn, age 90, Logansport, passed away peacefully at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Aperion Care, Kokomo.

Born September 13, 1930, in Shabbona, Illinois, he was the son of Joseph S. and Lucille Linden Osborn.

Jim served his country from 1948 to 1952 in the United States Army Airborne Division and from 1952 to 1970 as a MSgt in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60 and VFW Post 3790.

He was married to Jacquelyn Dorsey, who preceded him in death.

Jim was an electrician at LMU and later, General Tire.

He and his many friends met every day at Mr. Happy Burger West for coffee and a lot of story-telling.

Surviving are his children, Jennifer “Jill” (Mark) Rouch, Logansport, Jon Paul Osborn, Logansport, Jayne (Ricke) Stucker, Kokomo; grandchildren, Tucker Rouch, Matt Moore, Ryan (Mary) Long, Katie (Braxton) Eckelbarger and Austin Osborn.

Also surviving are great grandchildren, Ivan Moore, Jude Moore, Emma Eckelbarger, Allie Eckelbarger, Anthony Long, Linda Long; great-great granddaughter, Nova Long; a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda J. “Jody” Long.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9th, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Greg Reed officiating.

Full Cass County COVID precautions will be observed. Masks are required.

Burial, with full military honors, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
