James P. Miiller

James P. Miiller, age 79, Logansport, passed away at 11:52 a.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born March 10, 1943, in Rensselaer, he was the son of Raymond and Cecilia Lord Miiller. Jim’s parents were farmers in Goodland and Jim grew up on the farm. He continued farming on his own after school.

He was married to Carol Glendenning, who survives.

Jim retired from Kent Feeds.

A graduate of Goodland High School, Jim served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 418, Walton, and had been Chaplain for the Cass County Veterans Council. In 2020, he was Parade Marshall for the Cass County Veterans Day Parade, where he was nicknamed “Mr. Poppy” for his long-time interest in the Buddy Poppy program.

Jim also enjoyed Indiana University basketball, antiques and stripping and refinishing furniture. He was a big fan of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indy 500. He attended the races for many years.

He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lana Harvey, Lafayette, Natalie Rogiers, Phoenix, AZ; brother, Gene (Marsha) Miiller, Kentland; sister, Velma (Tom) Benner, Streator, IL; five grandchildren, Kesha Reida, Trent Harvey, Zane Harvey, Tyler Rogiers, Zack Rogiers; great granddaughter, Stephanie Reida; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a loving “adopted daughter”, Shellie Riggle.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Baker; sisters, Shirley Miiller, Marie Welsh; brother, Ralph Miiller and his wife, Letha Miiller.

Visitation is Thursday, March 24th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Fr. Kyle Neterer officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Cass County Honor Guard and uniformed members of the United States Army.
