Janne M. Hollibaugh, age 87, Logansport, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in WoodBridge Health Campus.
Born in Gary, Indiana on August 4, 1935, she was the daughter of William M. and Dorothy (Boger) Kussmaul.
On June 13, 1959, she was married to James P. Hollibaugh in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart, Indiana. She lost Jim, her best friend, on July 26, 2018.
A 1953 graduate of Griffith High School, she attended Indiana University East Chicago Campus (now Gary). She became a member of Tri Kappa sorority in 1953 and remained active until the late 2000s. She was the music director during those years.
Janne was a member of the Logansport Art Association, Mary Dykeman Guild, and a former member of Second Mothers’ Study Club. She was a wonderful cook and was well known for her apple slices and chicken steaks. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, gardening and antiquing.
She loved watching sports and followed the Colts, I.U., Purdue, Notre Dame and all Indiana teams, especially the Chicago Cubs and her children’s sports. She and Jim often traveled to Iowa to follow their son, Tim’s, games for Grinnell College.
Janne also enjoyed her daughter, Kathleen’s, performing and directing plays and community theatre musicals in Indianapolis. She liked talking world events and politics with her son, Mike; sports with son, Tim, and was blessed having daughter, Colleen, living with her and taking care of daily household chores. She loved her dog, Roxie.
Surviving are daughter, Kathleen Clarke Horrigan (fiancé, Bob Kirts), Fishers; son, Mike Hollibaugh (fiancée, Kate Lustig), Carmel; son, Tim (Allison) Hollibaugh, Grinnell, Iowa; and daughter, Colleen Hollibaugh, Logansport; grandchildren, William (Shu Ting Song) Hollibaugh, Annie (fiancé, Aaron Kowalski) Hollibaugh, Catherine Hollibaugh and Ryan, Blake and Lindsey Hollibaugh and Kaiya Lustig; great grandchildren, Jensen and Aria Hollibaugh, along with her nieces and nephews.
Preceding Janne in death were her parents, Dorothy and William Kussmaul, brothers, William and Robert Kussmaul; sister-in-law, Eleanor Kussmaul; and son-in-law, John Clarke.
Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m., November 26, 2022, at Kroeger Funeral Home, followed by the service officiated by Fr. Kevin Haines.
Burial will be at a later date.
