Jeffrey Mark Spicer Obituary

A tribute to Jeff will be held at The State Theatre in Logansport at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019.  Memorial services in Princeton, IN will be conducted at a later date.

Jeffrey Mark Spicer, 64, of Logansport, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comforts of home at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

Born January 3, 1955 in Seymour, IN, he was the son of Jack and Joan Spicer, both deceased.

A 1972 graduate of Princeton Community High School, Jeff had a wide range of employment.  After an honorable discharge from the United States Navy, he did farm work, was a DJ, restaurant manager, bartender, Red Cross Disaster Relief Co-Ordinator, and EMT.  He settled on a cultural archaeology career in the early 1990s and retired from it in 2007.

Jeff had a voracious appetite for knowledge and attended Vincennes University as a history and anthropology major. It is also where he met his wife, Lorien.

Shortly after graduating college, they married April 23, 2005 in the Hoosier National Forest and renewed their vows November 14, 2012 in Gatlinburg, TN.

Jeff was an avid historian and reader.  He appreciated all forms of art, most music, M*A*S*H, and any war documentary or movie he could find.  He was a wealth of knowledge.  He greatly enjoyed nature and spent as much time in it as he could.  In recent years, he served as the Building Manager for the Civic Players of Logansport Board of Directors.

Above all, he had a strong faith.

Surviving are his spouse, Lorien, Logansport; son, Scot Spicer, Evansville; daughter, Kristina Hammer; two grandsons, Aiden and Riley Hammer; brother, Jan (Sheri) Spicer, Ft. Branch; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends near and far.

A tribute to Jeff will be held at The State Theatre in Logansport at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019.  Memorial services in Princeton, IN will be conducted at a later date

Memorial contributions may be made to Lorien for assistance in covering expenses, medical bills, and various charitable donations.
