John C. Massey

John C. Massey, age 88, Logansport, passed away peacefully at 3:14 a.m., on Monday, April 15, 2024, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by his family.

Born in Foster, Kentucky on September 14, 1935, he was the son of Robert Jasper and Viola (Nickerson) Massey.

On August 12, 1995, he was married to Judy L. Russell, who survives.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, John retired from Exide and Federal Mogul.

Also surviving are daughters, Denise (Joe) Farrer and Amy (Jeff) Welker; sister, Sharlene Carlston; grandkids, Amanda Farrer, Carrie Bailey, Haleigh Welker, and Russell; great grandkid, Brayden Bailey and Bella Bailey.

John was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Massey, Jr., and Gerald Massey; and sister, Velma Buchanan.

Per John's request, a private graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at a later date in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

John, my husband, best friend and true love crossed the bridge into eternal life in Heaven. There is an emptiness in our hearts that will always be there. We take comfort in knowing he is no longer sick or in pain.
