John E. Timmons Obituary

John E. Timmons, age 75, Logansport, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, in I. U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born August 9, 1945, in Logansport, he was the son of Robert L. and Marjorie J. Walters Timmons.

On June 3, 1978, in Logansport, he was married to Phyllis Delaney, who survives.

A 1964 graduate of Logansport High School, John then served our country in the United States Army. He was a life member of both the VFW Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60.

He retired from Exide Corporation.

John was also a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Logansport Council, an active member of the Boy Scouts and also active in the Me-To-Cin-Yah (long rifle).

Surviving , in addition to his wife, are daughters, Jennifer Elaine (Craig) Rottet, Jena Mae (Joe) Redman, all of Logansport; son, John Ashley Delaney (Jennifer) Timmons, Houghton, MI; sisters, Jacque Brykett, Indianapolis, Rebecca “Becky” (Jerry) Stover, Logansport.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Tyler Graves, Jenna Graves, Seanna (Cam) Biggs, Sylas Redman, Skye Redman, Kalab Bishop, Sage Lequigan; great-granddaughter, Addyson Biggs; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Timmons, in 1974.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6th, at Kroeger Funeral Home.  The rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m.

Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, with full military honors, will be on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 11:30 a.m.
