Sadly, Jack Bruck slipped away and took our sunshine on March 18, 2025. May heaven treasure him as much as we did.
Jack was born on April 28,1930, in Logansport, Indiana. The son of Glen and Jessie Bruck, Jack attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Logansport High School, graduating in 1949. Jack was a jokester, always good for a laugh. His nickname in high school was “Babbling Bruck”, because of his penchant for talking. Jack joined the army after high school and was stationed in Italy for four years during the Korean War. He’s always been proud to show off his tattoo that he got at 18…even though a little hard to read as the years went by. Jack was privileged to go to Washington D.C. on the 2013 Veterans Honor Flight.
After his military service, Jack married Jean Zimmerman, the love of his life, on August 23, 1952 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Logansport. They became the proud parents of two daughters, Sheila and Cindy.
Jack worked for Ottinger Machine Shop all of his life as a tool and die maker. He was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church and was very involved in earlier years as an usher and singing in the church choir.
He volunteered later in life at Logansport Memorial Hospital, taking incoming patients to their procedures. He always enjoyed chatting with his many friends and coworkers.
In 2022, Jack and Jean moved from Logansport to Fishers Indiana to an assisted living facility to be near their daughter Sheila. It was an adjustment, but they made many friends and enjoyed the many activities that their new apartments offered, especially bingo and weekly movies.
Jack was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Wininger, son-in-law Tim Wininger, brother Robert Bruck and parents Jessie and Glen Bruck.
His remaining family includes wife, Jean, daughter Sheila Jackson (Richard), grandchildren, Adam Wininger, Emily Mahin (Ryan), Justin Jackson (Emily), great grandchildren, Tanner, Ava, Jack and Nora, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home, with Father Adam Mauman officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
