Joseph Fettingis, age 76, Logansport, passed away at 1:55 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor. Joe had been suffering with complications from Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Fulda, Germany, on November 22, 1946, he and his family emigrated to Venezuela and later to the United States, settling in Chicago.
In Chicago, Joe graduated from high school and attended the Art Institute of Chicago.
Many years ago he came to Logansport to teach watercolor classes at the request of Teri Partridge. One of his students was Donna Weida of Logansport, who became a friend, then travel partner and life companion of thirty years.
A gifted and accomplished artist, Joe taught watercolor classes throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
In addition to watercolor painting, he was a talented photographer.
Joe enjoyed gardening and flowers and finding a bargain plant to purchase. He loved animals, especially his seventeen-year old dog named “Daisy”. He and Donna loved to travel, with his artwork, attending art fairs and festivals throughout the country.
Donna wishes to thank Elara Hospice for loving and compassionate care during Joe’s final, difficult struggle.
