Joseph G. Hayes

Joseph G. Hayes, 79, formerly of Walton, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born August 31, 1941, in Flora, he was the son of Elmer and Marie Eller Hayes.

On January 7, 1966, he was married to Susan S. Smith, who preceded him in death on December 28, 2012.

Joe was a retired electrician from Delco in Kokomo.

He enjoyed metal fabricating and building items, especially, utility trailers. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and sitting on the beach people watching. A very social person, Joe enjoyed telling stories.

Surviving are sons, Aaron (Lacey) Hayes, Logansport, Thomas (Lauren) Hayes, West Melbourne, Florida; daughter, Elizabeth (Jerry) LaOrange, Logansport; brother, Jack (Mary) Hayes, Flora.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home.  The service will follow immediately afterward, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Nick Robinson officiating.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Cass County.
