Leah J. Barnett, age 88, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Traditions of North Willow in Indianapolis.
Born in Logansport on June 23, 1934, she was the daughter of Edwin and Eileen Maroney Helton, but was raised by her mother, Eileen, and her husband, Mick Musselman.
On June 18, 1964, in Houston, Texas, Leah was married to Arnold Jerome “Jerry” Barnett, who survives.
Leah was a charter member of the Civic Players of Logansport. She enjoyed dancing and singing as well as acting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Debra (Ken) Keen, Greenville, SC, Nancy (Randy) Hughes, Logansport, Marchelle “Sheli” Sherry (Jordan Brooks), Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lyndsey (Matt) Davis, Paige (David) Wilson, Kendra (Kris) Wright, Austin Hughes, Casey (Sunny) Hughes, Heidi (Adam) Binney, Kyla Sherry and Ronin Sherry; twelve great grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17th, at Mount Hope Cemetery. A celebration of life will immediately follow in the chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
