Martha Wiler Gittings Obituary

Martha A. Wiler Gittings, age 95, Escondido, Calif., formerly of Logansport, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Silverado Senior Living in Escondido.

Born January 26, 1923, in Anderson, she was the daughter of Horace Payne and Justine Cecilia Huberti Stuart.

She was married to Joseph A. Wiler, who preceded her in death on November 10, 1987. Joe Wiler had been General Manager of WSAL Radio.

She was then married to Richard Gittings, who preceded her in death in 2004.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Burchett, La Mesa, CA; grandchildren, Jen and Casey Johnson and Lesley and Matt Hyatt; great grandchildren, Sydney, Caden and Carter Johnson and Peyton, Lincoln and Beckett Hyatt; sister-in-law, Marty Wiler, San Diego; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were a son, Joseph S. Wiler; brothers, Richard Stuart and Robert Stuart; sister, Mary Frances Pettigrew.

Graveside Service 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Mount Hope Cemetery, with Rev. Nick Robinson officiating.
